About me

As a child, I was continually inspired by nature and the natural world and loved anything to do with the elementals (fairies), magic and mystery. This fascination has remained with me throughout my life and has developed into a love of Angels and anything Spiritual.

My background has been in teaching; all my close family were teachers, mainly of the academic type, for example, my Mother was Science based and my Father taught Geography and History. They were quite down to earth, and as you can imagine, quite analytical in their approach to life. I’m not sure where my Creative and Spiritual side came from, but I was always described as ‘Sensitive’. I stopped talking about the fairy I had seen in the woods when my uncle tried to catch it with a piece of cheese tied around a tree-trunk!

I guess I was nudged into teaching by my family, but I decided to ‘break the mould’ and I became an art teacher- which I enjoyed for over 19 years. I have continued to paint, and my Reiki experiences have greatly influenced my paintings. All my paintings come from the heart or ‘soul’, and are blessed with Reiki. Subjects include portraits, landscapes, Angels and fairies; I also do commissions. Some of my artwork is hanging in my Reiki room and is there to help with the healing process. My clients all say they have a feeling of calmness and peace when they look at them.

I first ‘found’ Reiki, or it ‘found’ me, through a need to heal myself. I have experienced deeply upsetting episodes in my life, which if left unresolved, could have led to severe emotional problems and ultimately, I believe, medical problems due to stress. For example, I am convinced my Father’s early death, aged 50 years from a heart attack, was due to stress.

My first experience of a Reiki treatment was ‘mind-blowing’. It was what I needed, at exactly the right time. After several treatments, I began to feel much calmer and more at peace with myself, and I knew that Reiki was the path I had to follow for the rest of my life. I was eager to pass on the gift of Reiki to other people, so I began to volunteer as a Reiki Practitioner in my local hospice as well as treating clients from my home, which I still do.

My teaching background has proved invaluable in my Reiki Teacher training. My courses are well-structured and delivered, but also conducted in a relaxed and lighthearted manner, which I believe is conducive to learning. All levels of Reiki are taught- from Reiki 1- through to Master. Students have the option to choose to complete the Reiki Level 2 Qualification, which gives them the opportunity to treat the general public, or to continue to the Level 2 Professional Practitioner Qualification, which is a qualification recognised by the NHS. My course has been verified by the Reiki Council as complying to the Core Curriculum and National Occupational Standards and is included in the UK Reiki Federation’s Directory of Approved Courses and is of the highest standard. I have always been a bit of a perfectionist and am passionate about promoting and maintaining the highest possible standards in Reiki Practice and Reiki Teaching.

I can honestly say, Reiki has transformed my life. It is not a religion and can be received or studied by anyone wishing to develop their spirituality and connect with others’, with the intention to heal the mind, body and spirit.
